    How do I join?

Calvary Baptist Church is a body of believers united by our desire to follow Jesus Christ and committed to fulfilling the purposes set forth in our Mission Statement. If you desire to join with us and will be supportive of the beliefs, fellowship, and mission of our church, we warmly invite you to become a member. Here are the three steps to becoming a member:

    1. Present yourself for membership during any Worship Service when the invitation is given at the end of the message. Our Pastor will invite those who desire to become members of Calvary to visit “Guest Central” at the conclusion of the worship service. A minister will greet you and introduce you to a friend, who will accompany you to a quieter place where you will be guided in your decision.
    2. Express your desire for membership through one of the following means:
      • Profession of Faith: If you have never received Jesus as Savior and Lord and/or never publicly confessed Him, you will be given an opportunity to do so.  After your decision has been confirmed, an appointment will be made for your baptism at Calvary.
      • Transfer of membership from another Southern Baptist Church: If you are currently a member of another Southern Baptist Church, we will receive you as a member upon promise of a letter from that church. Calvary will contact that church to notify them of your decision and request your letter.
      • Statement of faith: If you know in your heart that you have previously experienced salvation by receiving Jesus as Savior and Lord, we will be happy to receive you. We would highly encourage you to be baptized at Calvary if you have never been baptized by immersion after your salvation experience or if you were baptized in a church which holds a different view of salvation, baptism, or eternal security than Calvary.
    1. Attend the New Members Orientation class.
This special orientation class for all new members will give you essential information to help you become a fulfilled, functioning member of our church. Charting out a plan for your first year at Calvary, this class will show you how to begin building relationships in our church and will help you understand all the benefits and responsibilities of membership.
    2. After you’ve completed these steps, we will joyfully receive you as a member of Calvary Baptist Church and you will begin to fully enjoy the benefits and blessings of being a part of our family of friends.

    What do you believe?

Calvary Baptist Church is a family of believers who holds dear the following beliefs:

    Concerning Jesus Christ

    1. Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life. He stated that His reason for coming to the earth is to provide salvation for sinful man.
    2. Jesus Christ died on a cross, was buried and was raised from the dead on the third day in fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy.
    3. Jesus Christ is the one and only way for a person to receive forgiveness for his/her sins.

    Concerning Sin and Salvation

    1. Sin exists in our world. Sin is a willful disobedience of man to the will of God in his/her life.
    2. The result of sin in a person’s life is complete separation from God, both in this world and in eternity.
    3. It is necessary that a person recognize his/her personal sin and his/her need for a savior.
    4. Jesus Christ is the provision of God for the forgiveness of sin.
    5. A person may receive the gift of salvation by placing his/her faith in the power of Jesus Christ to save him/her.
    Concerning the Bible

    1. The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God.
    2. The Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to man.
    3. The Bible is completely true and trustworthy.
    4. The Bible is God’s truth without any mixture of error.
    5. The Bible is the one standard by which all of human conduct should be tested.
    Concerning Baptism

    1. Baptism is the act of being immersed in water as a symbol of the “death to the power of sin” and the “rebirth” into a life of faith.
    2. Baptism is an act of submission to the express wishes of Jesus Christ. It is not a requirement of salvation.
    Concerning Membership

We believe that the church has 5 expectations of members. These are:

    1. A member should have a PERSONAL salvation experience.
    2. A member should have a PASSION for spiritual growth.
    3. A member should have a POSITIVE spirit toward the leadership and the vision of the church.
    4. A member should have a PATTERN of systematic giving.
    5. A member should have a PLACE of ministry.
